SERVICES and PRICING

 

Because of the personal nature and complexities of each Personal History, it's impossible to quote a price for your personal history project, but we do our best to make everything clear well before we begin.

 

Our services are many, therefore always begin with a free, no obligation chat at the location of your choice. We don't set a time for this, so please take as long as you need to convey what you want. Should you then want to continue, the entire project is put on a contract with all services and prices clear to you before beginning.

 

Once commissioned to produce your personal history, the process includes a series of personal interviews followed by the lengthy editing process, samples supplied to you for proofing, ending with the final product delivered in a professionally printed, environmentally safe package designed to last for decades.

 

The equipment we use includes broadcast quality video cameras (set to BBC standards) and audio equipment. We do not use large television-type setups for two reasons - cost and complexity. Today's high definition video cameras produce pristine quality video making the need for extra lights unnecessary in most cases. Besides, to take a frail, elderly person and put them in front of large, multiple lights with a video crew is simply too much for many of them. We care about our subjects and are very confident we can produce high quality work with a minimum of fuss and cost. For do not forget, video lights and extra crew do not come cheap. We are not shooting you for television, though should the need arise, the video we supply you with is acceptable to most any broadcast network.

 

Our videos are shot and edited with a minimum of special effects. Though we do use some, they require much time to produce and too often take away from the subject at hand. YOU are our focus, not fancy, expensive special effects.

 

We do keep projects backed up in house for a period of time, but can also provide you with a complete backup solution so that all the original material is available to you for years to come. Please note there is no recognized, official backup solution for work like this, so we are constantly following industry trends and act upon new methods of preserving your memories as they become available.

 

To give you a very basic idea of the prices, please note that our base charge is $50 per hour for everything we do. In the case of video, one minute of finished footage requires approximately one hour of time to shoot and edit. This does not include services such as scanning and/or restoration of old photos or home movies. And yes, Larry can travel to you, but travel and expense costs are extra.

 

VIDEO BIOGRAPHIES for individuals, families, companies, teams, organizations, clubs and more. Please note we shoot everything in broadcast quality HD format and can supply as such if required, now or later.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY of events, groups or individuals. Digital restoration and preservation of old prints, slides and negatives.

 

VIDEO of events, groups or individuals. Editing, digital storage, duplication and transfer to different formats including online video, regular DVD or Blu-ray.

 

MEMORABILIA organizing and preservation. Sort through all your 'stuff' before it's too late. Down sizing or even helping to determine the value of your things is another service we provide.
